For over three decades our main practice was helping law enforcement agencies maintain CJIS compliance through audits, vendor management, and internal policy and SOP creation. During the COVID pandemic, we extended our compliance knowledge and service offering to the private sector after 20-plus years dedicated to the public sector. Working with the private sector revealed a complete “we’ll worry about the consequences later, just get it up and running” attitude. That compelled us to take a CJIS approach to all clients. When they evaluate a new software application, we don’t determine if it will work for their ecosystem and culture, but whether it complies with industry best practices, their cyber insurance, and any other agreement or process that application may touch.
